Suggestions / Karl, remember when.....
« on: January 11, 2019, 04:55:54 am »
Remember when you teamed up with the guitar play in studio for the awesome Greensleeves performance ????
I bet that song/performance alone sold tons of MOs.

Consider another studio performance mastered by you of course but obviously with the Coda.

Suggestions / While I'm waiting for a Coda t-shirt :)
« on: December 29, 2018, 03:18:15 am »
Karl I hope you don't mind but I 'borrowed' the Coda black/yellow ellipse and am using it as my wallpaper
on my phone and tablet

I'm looking forward to when the Coda store has a neat looking t-shirt brandishing the same Coda logo!

General Discussion / Just ordered another Coda. Why?
« on: December 22, 2018, 01:20:09 am »
Nothing wrong with Coda #1. But it is always a good idea to have a plan B :)
So reasons why to buy another Coda.
1. Genius (Karl) should be recognized and rewarded.
2. I loved the MoC so much I kept them everywhere (coats/glove boxes/desk/etc.)
    a. at the price of the Coda I can't have as many but I plan on several over time to spread them out.
    b. Hey it could happen, I could fall and face plant Coda #1 and crush it.
3. Showing support for Karl LTD. Either Karl is privately super rich with money trees in the backyard (and can thus
spend time developing instruments) or his wife is super rich or has a darned good job. I don't care! But either way
I can show support of his entrepreneurial spirit. It is a hallmark (or was) of America.
4. I'm just entranced with Coda. I was with MoC. Since early in my college days I've surround/spotted/befriended the genius' around me.
Think about it, those of you with Coda in hand. How many people can design a musical instrument ??????
5. I've mentioned in prior posts, I'll never dazzle anyone with my musical abilities. That does not matter. What matters is that
CodaKarl have re-kindled my desire to learn this new language. Thanks Karl.

So go get another Coda!

p.s. why is the ivory mouthpiece model out of stock?
p.s.s. anyone with a wood MoC let me know. Need it for my collection.

General Discussion / Cross over and hit rate....intuitive
« on: December 19, 2018, 11:03:00 pm »
I'd suppose any who have MOs know Karl is a genius.
I finally unboxed the Coda and just minutes later was hashing out a song from the playbook.

Crossover with the MO???
The 'patented' simplicity of fingering????

My hit rate (correct notes) was not perfect but darn I was impressing myself.

Then decision time, how/when to switch to the upper octave! Haha! WE HAVE AN UPPER OCTAVE!!!

Both cats ran...but they run whenever I grab the bagpipes too!

Introductions / Cheers! I'm Robert
« on: December 19, 2018, 04:42:47 am »
Hard to think how many miles I've carried an MO in a backpack, on my bicycle cycle camping, or in a kayak.
I think at one point I had 6 MOs but sadly lost my precious wooden model (if anyone has one and would consider selling
please let me know).
I come from trumpet/baritone background/made all-state on BB bass (I think most would call it a tuba), even own a rotary four valve 'tuba', some
time tinkering with bassoon and horn back in the day.
None of them ever offered the freedom of the MO.
Better yet the MO's fingering pattern was incredibly similar to highland pipes.

That said the MOs one octave limit always left me wanting for more.
Then the hints from Karl that the Pro Range was in the works.

I'm at the point now (aging quickly) where I'll never dazzle anyone with any instrument but studies show that playing games and learning new languages (Coda speak) can help slow down the dementing processes! So I'm super excited to see Coda as a reality.

General Discussion / Another Coda delivered
« on: December 19, 2018, 12:36:47 am »
Only time enough to open the package before running off to work.
USPS did an admirable job in not crushing the precious.
Will begin the get-to-know process tomorrow afternoon.
Very proud of Karl.
