Flower of the Thorn (Welsh traditional)
« on: April 15, 2020, 08:41:04 pm »
I'm working on my Eb, which is challenging because there are several different fingering possibilities in both the upper and lower chambers, so that's why this has been transposed into some challenging keys.

First - a nice YouTube version:

Next - key of C, easiest

That is a very nice tune.  I loved the fact that  a harpsichord  was used in making it instead of a piano. That made it much more authentic.

I thought I heard a flue of some kind in my right ear was that you or the recording?

That is a beautiful tune. And I also tend to stumble on Eb. I tend to use the low-C-minus-L1 fingering, which works in both chambers, but it's not always the most fluid one. I experience some interference between the "standard" fingering in the two chambers.
